Well it finally had to happen : Lighter breezes and warmer, brighter days. While the level have maintained water clarity is still excellent and there are some signs of better insect activity with the larger black and olive buzzers starting to put in a late (by comparison with earlier seasons) appearance.
Attention over the past couple of weeks has been focused ion the ospreys – one of which was seen fishing just in front of the lodge at Blagdon but they’re moved on upcountry now – there are some brilliant photos online if you go looking for them though…..
Weather-wise we’re looking good into the weekend with the only down note being Saturday where gusty and rainy conditions are set to come in by later afternoon. Aside from that, daytime temperatures look to be stabilising at around 10-13C with winds moving from a light Southwesterly to Northwesterly up to 10MPH by Friday. General overcast through the week should keep the trout feeding high in the water…
